1) The Quick Clean – Vacuum
Vacuuming or Hoovering (as our friends across the pond say) removes dirt that dulls appearance. Select a vacuum with good suction and strong beater bars, which brush the carpet and loosen dirt. Change vacuum bags and filters regularly.
2) Turn Spills into Memories
Battle stains immediately every second counts. Blot the spill to soak up excess liquid, do not scrub. Then poor a small amount of cold water on the stain to dilute it, and continue blotting. Then combine warm water, a table spoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of dish liquid. Apply the mixture with a sponge and then continue blotting, repeat until stain is gone. 3) Hire Professionals to Dig up the Dirt
Get your carpets professionally cleaned at least every 12 months, even if you clean them yourself in between. Lighter shade carpet may require cleaning more often.
